Atropical cycloneis another name for a large, dangerous storm that rotates inward around a low pressure system. As soon as they hit land, they immediately start to loose their strength. Depending on where they reach landfall, flooding usually occurs due to the amount of rainfall associated withe the tropical cyclone. The aftermath of a cyclone can be quite serious, depending on what category it was. Cyclones can be categorized from 1 to 5. 5 being the strongest, and 1 the weakest. If a cyclone is not strong enough to be a category 1, it's called atropical storm.
